Why some patients are struggling to get a GP appointment

When you are unwell or need support managing a condition, we know that you want an appointment with a GP or member of the practice team as quickly as possible and with a minimum of fuss. But, too often, that is something that practices struggle to provide.

Our Allied Health Professionals

District Nurses

District Nurses are employed by the Primary Care Organisation and attached to our Practice. They carry out nursing care of our housebound patients, over 16 years, in their own homes, provide support for carers and plan district nursing input. The District Nurses can be contacted by telephoning 0131 312 2159 8.00am to 4.30pm.

Health Visitors

Health visitors provide help and information on a wide range of services including health education, community services and resources. They are involved in the care of families, older people, antenatals, postnatals, the newborn, the development of children and any other family problems which require their expert help. These include parenting classes, breastfeeding support groups and antenatal classes. The Health Visitors can be contacted by telephoning 0131 312 2164.
